Swami Ishwarananda served as secretary of Chinmaya Mission Bangalore in India. Inspired by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, and with the guidance of Swami Brahmananda, he left his field of software engineering and joined the Mission's two-year Vedanta course at 'Sandeepany Sadhanalaya' in Mumbai in 1991.
Upon completing his brahmachari training in 1993 as Brahmachari Someshwar Chaitanya, he served Chinmaya Mission centers in Bangalore and Calcutta. He was then posted as the resident acharya of CM Los Angeles, and in March 2000, he received sannyasa diksha from Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda.
Swamiji was appointed to be the Acharya of the 2002-2004 Vedanta Course at 'Sandeepany Sadhanalaya' in 2001.
Swamiji has been lauded as a dynamic speaker. His talks on Vedanta, stress and mind management, management techniques, and related fields have been acclaimed worldwide. His workshop topics have included Medication and Meditation, Spirituality in the Workplace, Game of Life, Human Approach to Management, Profession with Principle, Surfing Above Sorrows, Value-based Management, Mindfulness, Vedanta in Daily Life, Vedanta for Householders, and Destiny vs. Free Will.
Swamiji's lucid discourses are filled with wit and practical tips to better comprehend the subtle and profound teachings of Vedanta. To date, he has authored various books that provide a deeper insight into spiritual life. These include Conscious Living, Silent Search, Dewdrops, Mukunda Mala, and Pathways to Peace.
